Programme Budget

During your stay you will be provided with half board. There will be a breakfast buffet in your hotel every morning. During the day we will either visit a restaurant together for lunch or book a catering service.

If we eat together, the Training Centre pays the costs. The budget is limited, there will be a choice of different main courses and drinks in restaurants. Usually 1 main course and 1 non-alcoholic drink can be covered by us. Anything ordered over and above this must be paid for by the participants themselves. Your tutors will inform you before each restaurant visit.

If you have an individual B2B appointment and are self-catering, we have a budget of 20€ per day per participant which we can pay you.

In Hamburg you have suburban trains (S-Bahn), subways (U-Bahn) and Busses. They are all operated by HVV.

On the first day of your stay in Germany we will provide you with a ticket that is valid on all the transportation operated by HVV. The tickets are valid throughout your stay in Hamburg. Please note, that you are required to carry an ID card with a photo.

NOTICE: Some of the participants needed tickets for public transport in Frankfurt. We cannot buy these tickets online and the participants have to buy and pay for them on site. We can reimburse these ticket costs – if a receipt/ticket is handed in to us!

Only the costs for overnight stays are covered. All other expenses (drinks from the minibar, room service, etc.) must be paid by yourself.

Is covered ONLY on official arrival and departure day.

NOTICE: The flight to FRANKFURT AIRPORT might be cheaper, but it’s a five-hour train ride from Hamburg. Not comfortable, but everyone has to figure it out for themselves.

We have a budget of 160€ per person for individual travels to B2B appointments or trade fairs (for the whole two weeks). This 160 € can be used for train tickets, bus tickets or hotel accommodation.

NOTICE: We will only be reimbursed by GIZ if we submit the receipt/invoice/ticket.
Therefore, the bookings must be made by the training center. The participants must let us know and WE book the tickets!
The participants have to fill in the form “My B2Bs” so that we have all the relevant information.

In principle, the most economical means of public transport must be chosen:

• 2nd class rail travel.
• Airfare will NOT be allowed unless it is cheaper than 2nd class rail travel. A flight can also be a favourable alternative, for example, if an overnight stay would be necessary due to a long distance of an individual business contact, which can be avoided by the flight. In any case, the settlement of a flight ticket must be accompanied by a statement of reasons and a comparative invoice.
• Taxi bills will only be reimbursed in justified exceptional cases
• Costs for rental cars or private car use will not be reimbursed
• Service charges for the purchase of tickets will also not be reimbursed.

NOTICE: Taxi transportation must be expressly pre-approved.Taking a taxi must have a reasonable and valid reason to be counted as an exception, e.g. “bad weather” is not enough.

Please note that consumption from the minibar is at your own expense.
